#2 Honda Civic (Sedan & Hatchback) You may pay slightly more for a Civic than a Corolla, but the former boasts praiseworthy performance for the money with sharp handling that makes it fun to drive. First cars need not be dull, and the Civic is proof that new drivers can look forward to an enjoyable daily ride in their affordably-priced vehicle. The Honda, Toyota, and Nissan all behaved exactly as you would expect; all 3 were very intuitive in the scrub of the front tires clawing for grip, getting traction, and pulling the car around the cones.
Very reliable car, my 2nd Honda vehicle (repeat customer, that says a lot). It basically just needed regular maintenance, replace typical wear and tear items (tires, brakes).

Lots of aftermarket support 2. cheap 3. from what i have heard they are somewhat simple to work on. If someone more experienced could help point me in the right direction that would be great.
If the car is clean and the price is right, you should absolutely jump on that. People don't build enough four door Civic's, the coupes and hatches are awesome (my preference even) but the sedans make absolutely great builds too. And it's probably easier to find a sedan in good condition than a coupe or hatch.
